Priyansh Arya went first ball, caught at midwicket off Mohammed Shami. Cooper Connolly bowled for 18. Then Prabhsimran Singh 69 off 39 and Shreyas Iyer. They put on 140 for the third wicket. Prabhsimran lbw to an Arjun Tendulkar yorker, Tendulkar’s first wicket of the season. Iyer finished 101 not out off 51, eleven fours, five sixes. Punjab 200 for 3 in 18 overs, 12 balls left. Player of the match: Iyer.

Punjab finished 15 points, fifth. Lucknow finished 8 points, last, level with Mumbai on wins, worse net run rate. A hundred in a dead-or-dying fixture does not rewrite a table. It only fills a card.
